Simlog Announces Major Upgrade to Reach Lift Truck Personal Simulator

August 3rd, 2026

Montreal, August 3, 2026 – Simlog Inc., the pioneer and standard in affordable PC-based heavy equipment simulators for operator training in education and industry, is pleased to announce another major product improvement, Reach Lift Truck Personal Simulator Version 2, that provides increased operator training help in the form of improved simulation graphics and Instructional Design.

New Functionality for Version 2

Developed in collaboration with key Version 1 customers, Version 2 introduces a new “Option” to make the mast semi-transparent as shown below on the left, to better help trainees learn how to work with the forks to pick up and put down loads, especially at the start. Later, you turn this off to make everything “opaque”, as shown on the right, when they’re getting ready to “graduate” to the real world.

Instructional Design Improvements

Regarding the improvements to the Instructional Design, we have added four new Simulation Modules for a new total of 11, “inspired” by how some key Version 1 customers are certifying, and later re-certifying, operators at the controls of their real reach lift trucks.

Named Put Away and Pull Down, the new Simulation Modules also feature a new Performance Indicator to measure productivity, just like you do in the real world: loads “placed” per hour.

As shown below on the left, Put Away is for inbound work, i.e. moving loads from the shop floor into racking after unloading trailers, shipping containers, etc.

As shown below on the right, Pull Down is for outbound work, i.e. moving loads out of racking to the shop floor to prepare for loading trailers, shipping containers, etc.

For two of the new Simulation modules, the aisles are of a standard width. After that, for the two other Simulation Modules, the aisles are narrow.

Software Upgrading for Version 1 Customers

Simlog’s Version 1 customers will be able to re-use their existing simulator controls and just purchase the Version 2 software upgrade for an upgrade fee. Contact Simlog or your local Value-Added Reseller for complete details.
