Simlog Announces Major Upgrade to Wheel Loader Personal Simulator

Montreal, June 21, 2021 – Simlog Inc., the pioneer and standard in affordable PC-based heavy equipment simulators for operator training in education and industry, is pleased to announce another major product improvement, Wheel Loader Personal Simulator Version 2 that provides increased operator training help in the form of improved simulation graphics, simulation physics, and Instructional Design.
New Functionality for Version 2
Developed in collaboration with key operator training professionals, Version 2 has a new construction industry focus featuring 3D modelling of a medium-size wheel loader with both a bucket and forks to simulate a wide variety of typical operations on a jobsite. The simulation environment also includes a new “commercial site” that resembles a typical loading/unloading yard at a factory or warehouse.
Version 2 also features the same the same multi-display functionality already a part of many other Personal Simulators, to let you set up three displays in front to create a 180 degree “panoramic” view, along with a fourth display behind, to teach people to turn their heads when backing up.
And because rear cameras are increasingly present in the cabin of real wheel loaders to promote safer operations, the new simulation software also features an optional Rear Camera System.
Finally, in keeping with Version 1, configuration options are offered for both “Steering Wheel Steering” and “Stick Steering”, to reproduce the operator controls of (real) small, medium, and large size wheel loaders.
New Instructional Design
A total of nine Simulation Modules present training scenarios typical of wheel loader work in construction, as follows:
- Controls Familiarization
- Positioning
- Stockpiling 1 – Level ground
- Stockpiling 2 – Slope driving
- Truck Loading 1 – Standard Dump Truck
- Truck Loading 2 – Articulated Dump Truck
- Load Handling 1 – Level ground
- Load Handling 2 – Slope driving
- Load Handling 3 – Flatbed Truck
For each Simulation Module, key “Performance Indicators” measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed, as well as tracking events related to safety and operating procedures, including lift arm and attachment “slams”, collisions, and “Fatal Errors” associated with overturn conditions.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for Simlog’s Wheel Loader Personal Simulator Version 2 varies according to the choice of simulator controls and other setup options.
Simlog customers who purchased Version 1 will be able to re-use their existing simulator controls and just purchase the new Version 2 software upgrade for an upgrade fee.
