Enhancements include new 3D modeling, more realism, and new Simulation Modules

Simlog Inc., the pioneer and standard in affordable PC-based heavy equipment simulators for operator training in education and industry, is pleased to announce the availability of a major upgrade to the Mobile Crane Personal Simulator: Version 3.

The Mobile Crane Personal Simulator

Developed in collaboration with key Simlog customers to ensure that trainees experience the greater realism when performing the simulated exercises, Version 3 of Mobile Crane Personal Simulator puts trainees at the controls of a modern rough terrain hydraulic crane equipped with telescoping boom and jib, and a variety of loads and hookblocks.

New Functionality

Requiring over two years of research and development, Version 3 of Mobile Crane Personal Simulator delivers significant improvements. New 3D modeling of the crane and dashboard; viewpoints from outside the cabin, sophisticated graphics and more realistic simulation physics with boom deflection, are among the new functionality offered by the upgrade. High definition instructional videos to present the Simulation Modules are another important element included in the software.

Brand New Simulation Modules and New Content for Existing Ones

Two brand new Simulation Modules teach more advanced operator techniques. For “Pole Topping”, the operator lifts a rubber tire onto the tops of a series of poles. “Pole Placement” teaches operators how to properly and safely lift poles and place them at target holes in the ground. Other modules such as “Corridor Following 1 and 2” include new content.

“Version 3 sets a new standard for simulation realism, with new 3D modeling, graphics, and simulation physics,” says Paul Freedman, Simlog’s Founder and President. “With more advanced content, and triple the number of performance indicators, Mobile Crane Version 3 further extends training effectiveness and safety, while continuing to deliver superior training value at a fraction of the cost of a real crane seat.”

Reduce Training Costs and Improve Training Safety

Simlog’s Mobile Crane Personal Simulator Version 3 allows instructors to give more trainees more advanced “virtual” seat time. The software’s eight Simulation Modules allow trainees to first get proficient at the controls, and then move on to advanced tasks of increasing difficulty without the cost and danger of operating the real crane. This results in a significant cost reduction thanks to fewer mistakes in the field, less wear and tear on equipment, and reduced risk of accidents.

Pricing and Availability

The price of the commercial software license for Simlog’s Mobile Crane Personal Simulator Version 3 is just USD$6,000 per PC. The simulator controls (PC controls, Replica Controls, and Operator Chair) are priced to accommodate a wide range of budgets. Current Simlog customers may be able to re-use their existing controls. The Mobile Crane Personal Simulator Version 3 is available now. Contact Simlog or your local Value-Added Reseller for complete pricing details.
