New Advanced Skills Development Partnership with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges
Simlog Inc., the pioneer and leader in the development of Personal Simulators for cost-effective PC-based heavy equipment operator training, is pleased to announce the establishment of a new Advanced Skills Development Partnership with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC).
Currently 15 Canadian colleges use Montreal-based Simlog’s simulator products for operator training programs in forestry (e.g. at New Brunswick Community College), mining (e.g. at Northern Lights College), cranes (e.g. at Durham College), and construction (e.g. Conestega College).
Through this agreement, Simlog becomes ACCC’s preferred vendor in the heavy equipment simulator segment. ACCC members will benefit through access to simulators which are excellent training tools, while being significantly less costly for our member institutions than acquiring complete fleets of heavy equipment. Students will benefit from a greater number of simulated training hours, before they move on to real equipment at the end of their programs.
“We see significant value in the products Simlog brings to member institutions,” noted ACCC President and CEO James Knight. “These institutions were early adopters of simulation technology and see the benefit of enhanced access to training hours prior to receiving necessary hands-on training in the field.”
Many ACCC members are already Simlog customers, from the College of New Caledonia in British Columbia to the College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“Simlog’s simulators are the system of choice in our region for mine training because they are an affordable option that allows students to learn operator skills in a safe environment, eliminating the risks of personal injury and equipment damage.” explains Donna Merry, Workforce Training and Continuing Education Coordinator at Northern Lights College Tumbler Ridge campus.
Simlog is pleased with the partnership, which will improve their ability to support both Canadian colleges and international education partners collaborating with ACCC member institutions.
“We are delighted to be an inaugural member of ACCC’s new Advanced Skills Development Alliance,” says Paul Freedman, Simlog’s President and Founder. “We look forward to exploring new business opportunities with ACCC’s international partners and having the potential to become an integral part of the operator training services provided by ACCC members.”
