PC Requirements for Personal Simulators
Simlog's Personal Simulators are real-time 3D applications, so
your PC (Personal Computer) will need to have sufficient computing and
graphics horsepower.
That is why many PCs, even new ones, are unsuitable, especially
those that feature "integrated CPU-graphics systems" which are 20-40 times
slower than PCs with separate graphics cards.
In the following table, we present Simlog's PC Requirements to obtain
good-to-superior performance for all of our products.
Note that the specifications are typical of high-powered "gaming" computers,
but it may be possible to use less powerful computers for some Simlog
products. To learn more, please contact
Simlog.

Additional Recommendations
Today, many Simlog customers are using large LCD displays and for
that reason, Simlog has prepared some
display recommendations.
If you plan to use such a display, please be sure that your PC has a
corresponding port e.g. HDMI 1.4. (DVI and VGA are older standards, and
provide less image information, compared to HDMI.)
Simlog also recommends a high fidelity sound card for the sounds generated
by your Personal Simulator, either integrated with the PC motherboard, or
on a separate sound card e.g. from Creative Labs or Asus.
Quality speakers will enhance the training experience, especially a
"sub-woofer" to accompany two "tweeters" (typically sold together as a
3-speaker unit).
For simulator labs,
consider having headphones at each station instead.
Finally, Simlog recommends the use of a UPS (Uninterruptible Power
Supply) to protect your PC from problems with electrical quality or reliability
leading to "brown-outs" and "black-outs" e.g. when
equipment turning on or off on the same circuit causes surges and changes in voltage.
In most cases, a "moderate strength" UPS will provide enough
protection to properly regulate electricity to your PC, and let your PC
shut down safely in the case of power failure. For most PCs,
a UPS in the range of 750 VA to 1500 VA should be sufficient, depending
on the quality of the available electrical supply.
