To maximize cost-effectiveness,
many Personal Simulators may be used with low cost off-the-shelf PC joysticks,
instead of
"Replica Controls" featuring USB-ready industrial components
or "OEM Controls" with parts from the operator controls of
real heavy equipment.
And as a service to our customers, Simlog is pleased to offer new table-top mounting brackets to bring the PC joysticks down from table-top height to the sides of an ordinary chair, to better mimic the positioning of real controls in the cabin of real heavy equipment. |
Table-top Mounting Brackets |
Simlog recommends one particular kind of PC joystick, the
Logitech "Attack 3", as shown here.
Why? First, the same joystick may be used for both the right and left hands. Second, it offers a large number of switches for the thumb along with additional switches in the base. Of course, you may choose to use other PC joysticks but Simlog suggests that you carefully review the look and feel of the Logitech "Attack 3" before purchasing something else. Remember too that the Simlog documentation for our Personal Simulators makes reference to just this PC joystick. The fact is, if your joysticks don't offer sufficient functionality, then you won't be able to take advantage of all of the training value that we've built into our Personal Simulators. (The Saitek "EVO" PC joystick that Simlog previously recommended is no longer available.)
Simlog also keeps a small number of units in stock for resale to Simlog customers at the cost of USD$200.00 (plus shipping/handling and applicable taxes). International visitors may wish to use our currency converter to convert $USD pricing into another currency. Questions? Just contact Simlog! |
