About Us
Simlog was founded in 1999 to commercialize
training simulation technology developed at
CRIM, one of Canada's
leading research institutes in information technologies.
(The company name is a contraction of the words "SIMulation"
and "LOGiciel", French for "software".)
Today, Simlog is a very special simulator company,
for these three reasons:
-
Simlog has a unique product focus:
Simlog is pioneering a brand new kind of simulator product
called Personal Simulator
which leverages the power of your PC to finally provide
truly cost-effective training help for heavy equipment operators.
Tangible recognition has come in the form of three Innovation Awards
to date:
-
Simlog has a unique business focus:
heavy equipment operator training in the
crane and construction industries,
forestry,
and mining.
We do nothing else.
Practically, this means that you can count on Simlog for more and more
simulator-based help
to address your heavy equipment operator training needs!
-
Simlog has a unique instructional focus:
because we are working in multiple heavy equipment industries,
we've gained special insights into
operator training challenges and
instructional design for training simulation.
Indeed, every
Personal Simulator is developed in collaboration
with leading equipment manufacturers, their distributors, owner/operators,
and training professionals.
The fact is, Simlog is a 21st century company:
- We can deliver our software to your electronic doorstep
wherever you are.
- We offer free software evaluation with
no "time out",
so that your colleagues and your customers
can be part of your purchasing decision.
- On each product page, we post the price of
the commercial software license (in $USD).
- Our Web site is designed
to inform: it
contains lots of information about operator training challenges,
simulator-based training, and descriptions of
how our customers are using our products
to make their businesses better.
And the simple Web site design makes it easy to find what you want!
And unlike companies developing video games or interactive multimedia,
Simlog employs simulator specialists who are university graduates in
engineering and computer science (many also have advanced degrees).
For this reason, we understand real heavy equipment and that,
quite frankly, helps us build better simulated ones.
To date, Simlog has sold hundreds of Personal Simulators
to customers in 34 countries all around the world.
So whether you're looking to
train people better as a training
service provider, or
manage people better as an
equipment owner/operator,
you've come to the right place.
