In 1995, the National (U.S.A.)
Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators
was formed as an industry-led not-for-profit organization
to develop effective performance standards for safe crane operation
to assist all segments of general industry and construction.
To evaluate crane operating skill, the CCO developed a
Practical Exam with crane operating tasks that
require the controlled movement and placement of test loads along with
the navigation of a zigzag corridor.
CCO certification is here. Are your crane operators ready?

Just like the tasks of the CCO Practical Exam, the simulation exercises
in
Simlog's
Mobile Crane Personal Simulator
and
Tower Crane Personal Simulator
increase in difficulty and emphasize the
generic skills associated with moving loads in the presence
of obstacles, while respecting upper and lower
height bounds and load chart limits.
There's even a simulated zigzag corridor following task in the form of
simulated concrete pouring, and moving clouds make the work extra real!
And there's no need to stand around and watch because everything is automatically saved on your PC, and it's easy to keep track of the simulation results. But even if your operators are experienced, Simlog can help them better prepare for the Practical Exam by gaining confidence in their operating skills in a way that's completely safe and provides lots of careful feedback. Just ask yourself the question. Can a "spare" crane in a corner of my yard do all that? Listen to Keith Queenan at Global Crane & Rigging: "I recently took my NCCCO Practical Exam on a Manitowoc 888 crawler crane. Although I have many years of experience as a crane operator, I had never operated this model crane before. Also, as a manager of Global Crane & Rigging, I had been out of the seat for over ten years. With the help of Simlog's Mobile Crane Personal Simulator, I was able to prepare for the Practical Exam and then scored a perfect 100 at the controls of the Manitowoc crane." Perhaps your company is also preparing for the Practical Exam? When you consider the cost of Examiner Accreditation and Test Site preparation, don't you want to make sure that all your operators will pass the exam first time out? Time to contact Simlog!
